I am currently a freelance video professional located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. My husband and I operate our small business, "A Troll's Kitchen", for which I act as the social media manager and perform most media-related duties.
I was previously a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Central Michigan University, teaching Introduction to Video Production labs, the hands-on portion of the course. I earned my Master's degree in May 2022, from the Broadcast & Cinematic Arts department of CMU, concentrating on Electronic Media Production.
I previously was a Production Assistant with National Geographic's Nat Geo Wild, on "The Incredible Dr. Pol". You can also find me on Fiverr and UpWork as a freelance video editor. I co-own Crisis Productions, which is a local video production company, too. I am Part 107 licensed to operate a drone for commercial use in the USA.
In 2018, I graduated from the Broadcast and Cinematic Arts program at Central Michigan University. There, I worked with MHTV as the Social Media Manager and as an editor for the show "Down Time". I was also the editor for the show "Nobody Watches". Other MHTV shows I worked on included "Central Premiere" and "Central View".
I was an intern at a local news web channel, ebw.tv in Port Huron, MI from 2013 to 2015.
I had a summer internship at MAC TV in Mount Pleasant, MI from May to August 2017.
I worked at WCMU in Mount Pleasant, MI as well while I attended CMU.
I'm a student who has always known that I've wanted to work on movies and videos. I want to be a Visual Effects Artist after I graduate from CMU. I have been working with movies and editing programs for years and have a lot of self-taught knowledge along with formal education. I want to make videos as much as possible and as often as possible. I can spend hours editing or working in After Effects and never get bored- I've done it before (and I was alright with that).
I briefly studied Film and the Arts with the New York Film Academy, the Stella Adler Acting Studio, and UCLA through People To People in 2011. I filmed on the Universal Backlots and learned about cameras, editing with Final Cut Pro, boom microphones, story-boarding, scriptwriting, and how to film in a professional manner with the New York Film Academy. I have participated in workshops at Lawrence Tech with Television professionals who taught us about writing news stories, how to film a news report and more about how a news channel runs. I attended another workshop, also at Lawrence Tech, where I met a professional Visual Effects Artist who showed me a few techniques and how to work more efficiently with Adobe Creative Cloud After Effects, at the time.
I love working with computers and learning about technology of all kinds.
I also had an Industrial Technology minor at Central Michigan University where I am focusing on Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programs. I have about four years of experience from St. Clair County Community College using AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and SolidWorks. I have experience working NX 11 and CATIA from CMU, as well.
